BOARDROOM CHATTER - JUNE 2007

The May 2007 meeting of the Polk Place Board of Directors met at the home of Laurie and Gary Battles on Jaclyn Court with Laurie Battles, Bob Buelterman, Todd Carter, Joy Chapman and Bill Veevers in attendance.

New pool procedures were discussed, including the implementation of access cards limited to two per family. Loss of an access card will result in a $25.00 fee for replacement of such. Motion was made and approved to make minor repairs to pool area/bathrooms (including water heater, dry wall and paint repair).

Paul Satterwhite has resigned the Covenant Committee. Gary Battles and Kevin Whitson are new members of this committee. A request has been received for a deck and arbor approval to one private residence and a pool addition at another one.

Other items discussed included barking dog complaints and the parking of a travel trailer in the common roadway.

Bob Buelterman has written two letters to developer J. Franks in reference to the buffer area between Polk Place Drive residences and the industrial/commercial park behind them. He has received no response. Bob asked if we could get our attorney to write a letter to Franks regarding the developer’s responsibility to place an eight-foot-wide buffer area (a City requirement). There is currently no buffer to protect residents’ view of Brightstone School.  Planning commission has given them until January, 2008 to finish this buffer.

Landscaping and irrigation for the East Pond at the principal entrance to the subdivision are now complete.

Mike Skinner of Sontag Drive has been named head of our Neighborhood Watch. Block captains are still being sought.
