BOARDROOM CHATTER - AUGUST 2007

The Board of Directors for the Polk Place Community Association met June 13, 2007 at the Polk Place Drive home of Bill and Anne Veevers. Bob Buelterman, Todd Carter, Joy Chapman, Kevin Whitson and Bill Veevers were in attendance.

Several violations of neighborhood covenants and restrictions at private residences throughout Polk Place were discussed, along with plans for intervention.

The City of Franklin is still working on the mechanical problems associated with traffic control devices to be loaned to our neighborhood. Bob Buelterman will continue to remain our liaison in reference to this issue.

Repairs to the Polk Place pool are nearing completion. The pool’s 111 members are enjoying much more exclusive use of the facilities as measures have been successful to be sure only members get in.

Social Committee Chair Stacy Veevers is working on plans for family movie nights by the pond in the common area of the neighborhood.

There were twenty Neighborhood watch volunteers at the time of the meeting (now at 30). Approximately six more needed for successful program.

Todd Carter is working to get prices on the installation of video surveillance at the entrances.

The Polk Place Family picnic is planned for September 22 and the Fall Festival for October 28.

Bill Veevers is planning to place Carp in the ponds at the principal entrance to the subdivision in an effort to keep them clear.

A decision was reached to channel all communication through the community website and signs at the entrances. There will be no more flyer communication.
