The objective of this award is to inspire pride in Polk Place Neighborhood. A well-cared for neighborhood draws buyers’ and visitors’ attention, and drives up house prices. Care of our properties is an important price determinant when selling a home. According to a study by Clemson University and the University of Michigan, consumers value a landscaped home up to 11.3% higher than its base price, as reported in Smart Money magazine.

Selection Committee is made up of some members of the Polk Place Home and Garden Club
Rules
- One home per month will be selected March through December
- No home can be selected more than once per calendar year
- Homes of the selection committee are not eligible
- Selection will be made during the last week of each month
- Homes will be selected for their visual attractiveness from the curb using an evaluation criteria sheet
- Seasonal additions, such as Halloween and Christmas decorations will also be considered in the selection committee’s choice
- A sign is placed in the winning yard and will remain there until the next month
- Winning homes will be displayed on the Polk Place Community Association Website with the homeowner’s name and address
