BOARDROOM CHATTER - MAY 2007

The Polk Place Community Association Board of Directors met April 12 at the Noah Drive home of Jim and Joy Chapman.

Treasurer Todd Carter suggested that board members be present at the Polk Place swimming pool the last weekend in May (Memorial Day weekend) when the pool officially opens to collect pool dues.

Bob Buelterman reported that he had again written to developer J. Franks in reference to the buffer zone between Brightstone School and Polk Place Drive residences. There was a hearing in the matter on April 26, which he pointed out should not have been necessary given the fact that the buffer zone was an original requirement.

Covenant Committee issues raised included the idea that if a tree limb extends over a resident’s property, it is their right to trim said limb. Other items included company trailers parked in roadways, cars parked across the sidewalks, basketball goals left outside when not in use and barking dogs. A sunroom addition has been approved by the Covenant Committee for a house on Karnes. The owners met with subdivision specifications.

The Yard of the Month program, which will extend through September is headed by a special committee comprised of  Joy Chapman, Connie Chorba and Vickie Davis. These Polk Place residents were chosen by Polk Place Home and Garden Club head Anne Veevers to select winning residences.

We are waiting for the City of Franklin to follow-up with temporary speed indicators as promised. Bob Buelterman offered to make another call to appropriate officials to move progress along on this very important issue.

Joy Chapman reported on the progress of new landscaping on the East pond at the principal entrance to the subdivision.
