The Dragon Gathering
By Amy Barnes, Sontag Drive

Once upon a time there was a land that was mystical. Dragons lived there but they didn’t talk to each other. For there was a spell cast on them. One day a pixie came and broke the spell. Darkfang was furious. You see he was a dragon from the under-world. Every dragon was happy.

Starburst and Ebony danced together. Flameball, Sparkle, Icecrystle, Hotshot and Sandstone danced as a group. So did Icesicle, Colorstreak, Lightning Zang, Waterwave and Thunderboom. And as a couple Firequize and Lightningstrike. They danced and laughed until thunder rolled across in the sky. “I didn’t do that,” said Thunderboom. The sky began to swirl. Everyone ducked down low.

The hurricane wrecked the whole Dragonland. They had to travel to another world. The underworld. Of course they only traveled through there to get to another happy land. “Wow, what a place. It is all dark and gloomy,” whined Sandstone. Who hates the dark. Soon they saw the cobraclaws castle.

They climbed up the stairs to the castle. Opened the door and went in.  Soon they saw guards at post in a hallway.  They tried to sneak past them but the guards saw them.  One guard pulled a rope and guards came from all different places in the castle.

The dragons ran until they found a door and they went inside.  As soon as they were on the other side they heard a voice.  It said “Who dares come in my room?”  “Us dragons from dragonland.” But when they came they didn’t see the sign. (It said Darkfang.)

Behind the curtains was Darkfang on his throne.  He pulled the curtains apart and said “Why have you come here?”  “Because we needed a place to hide from the guards.  And he flew out from his throne and landed right in front of the herd of dragons.

Guards started to tower up around them.  The dragons had to duck to not get hit.  Darkfang shouted, “Because of this trespassing let’s have war!” “And if they win they get to stay.” “But if we win you be our slaves.” SO the dragons agreed for war.

So they went to the battleground to have war. They fought and fought and finally the war was tied. The dragons got ten points.  Then the guards got 11. Then finally it was 100 to 101. But the war went on.  Soon it was over and it was 1,000 to 901.  The dragons had won.

One day when the dragons were supposed to be sleeping they snuck out and found a scepter. Ebony took it and they went to find Darkfang and they found him and turned him into a pile of salt.  They went back to Dragonland and turned it back to normal.

They had a party to celebrate. And they all lived happily ever after. (Or not.)
