The Rats in China
By Alana Pearce - Age 8, New Hope Acadamy

This is the story of some smart rats in China trying to save their gold from a cobra riding a giant piranha.
The rats, Tulip Daisy, Max and Clam were at their grandma’s house and then a cobra came in to their house and stole all of their gold money. Then the rats went off and chased the cobra into a jungle. Then a guinea pig (who happens to be a scientist studying snakes’ tracks) named Sara helped them find the snake. The guinea pig and the snake were fighting and the guinea pig defeated the giant piranha the snake was riding in the water, just like a horse. The rats were on a lily pad. Then Tulip the rat bit the piranha and the piranha went back into the lake screaming.
The cobra snake jumped out of the lake and kept slithering away with the golden bag full of gold money. The bag had a dollar sign on it. He went into the King’s palace. The rats followed him into the palace. The snake buried the bag of gold with the dollar sign on it behind the King’s throne. It was guarded by red lasers and a pool of piranhas and baby sharks.
Then Tulip (the leader of the rat pack) swung in through a window, a rope tied around her stomach. She had spy gear in her belt. She used a big, giant hook and hooked it onto the bag of gold and raised the gold bag up. She raced out of the palace, back to the jungle, swam through a sea and met a giant shark. A dolphin hit the shark in the belly and the shark swam away yelling “Ahhhh, I’m hit, I’m hit, I’m hit, I’m hit!!!!!!”

The dolphin carried Tulip and the rest of the rats back to their grandma’s house. Tulip then discovered that her grandma was the Rat Queen of China. This makes Tulip the “Lost Rat Princess.” The Rat Queen awarded her a crown of rubies, diamonds and emeralds.
They all lived happily ever after.

The End.
